 ABOUT THE COMPANY
Katen Consulting is a New York-based Business Etiquette and Career Development Training Company that specializes in working with young adults. Located in Harrison, this 100% qualified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), is dedicated to helping students, new graduates, job seekers, new hires, employees, and managers learn the essential skills and knowledge needed to make a positive impression in the workplace. Katen Consulting's mission is to "help young adults become polished young professionals."

Katen Consulting was founded by Laura Katen in response to her perception of the growing gap that exists between what young adults know and the skills and knowledge they need in order to successfully pursue their professional goals. The end-result was the creation of Enhance Your Chance® Workshops and Curriculum, specifically designed to help young adults enhance their overall personal growth and increase their chance for professional achievement.

The services of Katen Consulting include:

Customized EYC® Training Sessions help Companies to improve the appearance, productivity, overall etiquette and professionalism of new hires, interns, part/full-time employees, managers;

Customized Enhance Your Chance® Workshops help Middle Schools, High Schools, Colleges, and Youth-focused Community Organizations to prepare students for the workplace. Two additional components offered with this program are Staff Development Training and Parent Workshops;

EYC® Private Instruction gives Upcoming/New Graduates the one-on-one guidance they need to pursue the workplace with confidence;

Awarded "Best New Show" 2003, and Nominated for "Best Series" 2005 by LMCTV, Westchester, NY, "Enhance Your Chance®: A Guide to Maximizing Your Possibilities" is an award-winning New York cable television show that offers a weekly source of information and provides viewers with important and timely career information.

EYC® Curriculum and Instructional Products, equip individuals with the tools necessary to achieve respectability, credibility and success in the business world.

Ms. Katen is the President of Katen Consulting. She and her colleagues continue to use their experience to develop practical and comprehensive workshops and instructional products designed to help young adults achieve their professional goals.

Laura Katen - President
In June, Ms. Katen was awarded the prestigious "Rising Stars" Award 2006 for exceptional professionals under the age of 40, she was recently honored as April 2006 "New Yorker of the Month" by New York-based company Ask a New Yorker, nominated for the "National Register's "Who's Who in Executives and Professionals", and featured on WVOX (1460 AM) & WRTN (93.5 FM) radio discussing the critical role of skill-building in the lives of young adults. Ms. Katen is the author of the forthcoming book series Enhance Your Chance®, due out in 2007, a speaker at national educational conferences on the subject of skill-building, and co-hosts the award-winning New York television series "Enhance Your Chance®: A Guide to Maximizing Your Possibilities."

Ms. Katen brings a depth of personal experience in education, professional development, and business knowledge to the creation of these Workshops. She has worked in education; teaching both domestically and abroad, facilitated the life-cycle of the hiring process within business environments, and continues to benefit both students and adults within the realm of professional development.

Ms. Katen received her BFA degree from Carnegie Mellon University and attended Chatham College for Education. She taught English at the Ecole de St. Joseph in Provence, France and upon her return continued working in Education and Finance.

Laura is deeply committed to giving back to the community. Some of the ways in which she accomplishes this goal are to volunteer her time, knowledge and experience. In addition, to co-hosting the company's award-winning New York television series "Enhance Your Chance®: A Guide to Maximizing Your Possibilities", Ms. Katen volunteers for the following organizations:
Ron Katen - Vice President
Ron Katen received his Masters Degree from Harvard University and has been teaching professional development in both the military and civilian arenas for over 30 years. In addition to conducting EYC® Corporate Training Sessions for Katen Consulting, he currently co-hosts the company's award-winning New York television series
"Enhance Your Chance®: A Guide to Maximizing Your Possibilities."





Joan Maliha - Managing Consultant
Joan Maliha graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hunter College in New York City where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and received the prestigious Francis Morehouse Alpha Chi Alpha Prize "For the Most Distinguished Record in the Social Sciences at Hunter College." Offered the highly competitive New York State College Teaching Fellowship, Ms. Maliha received her Masters Degree and completed her Ph.D. course work at Columbia University. She has been a teacher for over 20 years and has been included in "Who's Who in America", and in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers".

Terance Huyter - Managing Consultant
Terance Huyter received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Mercy College and has been involved in the field of educational technology since 1996. He currently facilitates the design and development of the company's EYC® Curriculum and Instructional Products, as well as their television show Enhance Your Chance®: A Guide to Maximizing Your Possibilities."
