One-day Effective Workplace Communication Program

A one-day group learning session that focuses on giving employees verbal, non-verbal, listening, and email strategies and techniques for being effective communicators. The following themes will be covered:

One-day Communicating with Confidence, Clarity and Credibility Program

A one-day Group Learning Session that introduces supervisors and managers to key communication strategies. The following themes may be covered:

Please note: participants complete a brief Assessment during the session. This Assessment will convey in general terms the type of communicator a supervisor/manager is. KATEN CONSULTING will be reviewing the strengths and limitations associated with each style in order to help supervisors best understand how to tailor / “flex” their styles when communicating with others. 2 ½ -day Communicating with Confidence, Clarity and Credibility Program

A 2 ½ -day Group Learning Session introduces supervisors and managers to key communication techniques and provides a ½ day follow-up strategies session. The following themes may be covered:   DAY 1: Day 1 focuses on increasing awareness to how each participant communicates both informally and by administering / reviewing in detail the results of the formal Assessment. Topics include:   What is my Communication Style? Strengths of Styles, Potential Limitations of Styles, “Flexing” My Style, Quick Cues of Recognition, Communicating with Similar/Differing Styles.   DAY 2: Day 2 focuses on increasing awareness to key communication strategies and best practices. Topics include:

 ½ DAY FOLLOW-UP STRATEGIES SESSION: The ½ day Follow-up Strategies Session helps supervisors / managers to:
  • Review key communication models covered during training program
  • Discuss real-world situations that they can apply communication strategies to so as to further develop / strengthen their communication skills
  • Address current challenges and exchange best practices so that they leave the training with additional strategies to more successfully navigate workplace situations.

Accent Modification Program

This substantive, interactive, and discreet Accent Modification program helps employees / managers communicate with confidence, clarity, and credibility in the workplace. Please Note: The focus of this program is one-on-one sessions personalized to each participant. Therefore, there is no limit to the number of employees that can participate. This program consists of a group session and (7) 1 hr. one-on-one session per participant; 30 minute online Pre / Post Assessments are administered and will yield standardized measurable outcomes; session manual and/or materials provided. The KATEN CONSULTING team member facilitating this program is a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist. Pre-Assessment: Prior to Session 1, each participant will complete a 30 min. online assessment to evaluate his/her particular speech pattern as well as verbal strengths and needs. The Assessment is then used to tailor the participant’s one-on-one sessions to his/her specific needs and goals.   Week 1: Group Session: One 1 - 1 ½ hr. group session prior to the start of the individual sessions. The group session will offer an overview of the 7 weeks and expected outcomes.   Weeks 1 – 7: Coaching Sessions: 1-hr. one-on-one sessions for seven consecutive weeks. Each participant’s Pre-Assessment and seven-week program goals will be addressed.     Outline of Program Material Covered in One-on-One Sessions:
  • Pronunciation of consonants and vowels of the English language
  • Intonation, stress pattern, and rhythm of English
  • Customized field-specific terminology/vocabulary
  • Grammar & Idioms
  • American expressions
  • Vocal improvement
  • Knowledge of non-verbal communication
  • Assistance with oral delivery of power point presentations, if needed
  • Strategies for communication
Post-Assessment: At the end of the seven weeks, each participant will complete a 30 min. online assessment to evaluate his/her progress. The Pre and Post Assessments are compared and the standardized measurable progress will be shared with each participant. The participants involved can see accent Modification as a very private and personal topic. It is KATEN CONSULTING’s goal to be as discreet and respectful as possible.
